Tala

Tala is a breath-taking village that is built on the side of a mountain, approximately at 300m above sea level, this results in it having a cooler climate as well as a magnificent view of the sea and villages below. Tala is home to the significant Agia Ekaterini church and is very rich in history throughout the whole village with its Agios Neofytos Monastery. Tala also has a Monument for Heroes and fallen soldiers in the E.O.K.A struggle during 1955-1959.

Tala is known to be rising in development as it is beginning to adapt and modernize with society, although it stays true to its roots and still holds the welcoming touch and the loving charm of a Paphos village. Within Tala there are many places to visit as a family such as the Wood Carving Exhibition, creating a fun hands-on experience for children as they learn how to craft and carve details onto wood. There is also a forest known as the ‘Kapnismata’, which is home to trees that are no taller than 10 metres and can only grow in Cyprus and the Middle-East. There are many bars and restaurants within Tala, many of which host nightly entertainment, quizzes and karaoke. There are also many supermarkets, hair salons, sports clubs as well as art classes to join. Tala is known for its mix of cultures and its warm atmosphere which is seen as one big loving family, with people enjoying all the concerts in the amphitheatre and park, the community gathers together to spend a momentous occasion listening to music gazing at the stars above and the ocean in the distance.
